こちらも、imi ceramicsの原点ともいえる代表的な作品のひとつ。
imi ceramicsでは、陶石を主原料とする九谷焼の磁器土「石もの」と、粘土を主原料とする「土もの」の両方を制作に使用しています。

こちらは「土もの」の粘土を使用した作品です。土ならではの柔らかさや自然な風合いを持ちながら、荒々しく力強い表情も生み出せる素材です。
「石もの」と「土もの」、どちらにもそれぞれの個性と魅力があります。
このぐい呑みでは、土ものならではの荒々しさと優しさが共存する表情をお楽しみいただければと思います。

imi ceramics works with two types of ceramic clay: Kutani porcelain clay, made primarily from pottery stone and known in Japan as "ishimono" (stone-based ware), and traditional pottery clay, known as "tsuchimono" (clay-based ware).

This piece is made from tsuchimono clay, a material that lends itself to a more rustic and expressive character while retaining the natural warmth and softness of earth.

Both materials have their own distinctive qualities and appeal.
