能作は現在の石川県金沢市とは歴史的にも縁の強い町です。慶長14年（1609年）、加賀藩2代藩主・前田利長が高岡城を築き、その城下町として開いたのがそのはじまり。利長は産業を振興のために、鋳物師を招き金屋町に鋳物工場を設けました。当初は、鍋・釜などの日用品や鋤・鍬などの農具を作っていました。時代のニーズに合わせて変化をくり返す中で、高岡は鋳物の町として知られるようになりました。能作は、江戸時代より400余年前の高岡に、仏具を製造する工場として誕生しました。それ以来、ずっと歴史に裏打ちされた技術に現代の感性と融合させて作品が生み出されています。

こちらの商品は魔除けにもなりそうな獅子のお香立て。獅子がタバコをくゆらせるようにお香スティックを加えている姿がなんともイケてる！小さいけれど勇ましい立ち姿がなんとも言えません。こちらのセットには、獅子の下に敷くトレイも含まれています。獅子の有機的で複雑な形に対し、こちらは、シンプルで無期的な滑走路のような真っ直ぐさ。この対比の組み合わせがまたとても魅力的なセットです。

経年によって色が変化していきますが、お香で流れるゆったりとした気持ちとともに、時間の経過を楽しんでいただければ幸いです。
