林悠介氏デザインのおおてらのミニ干支シリーズからこちらは福うし。
尻尾の先端までうしそっくり！丑（牛）は、人々の暮らしの中で、重労働をこなしてくれることから、力強さ・粘り強さ、誠実さの象徴と言われています。

【十二支について】

十二支（じゅうにし）は、子・丑・寅・卯・辰・巳・午・未・申・酉・戌・亥の12種で年を表すものですが、この十二支、紀元前の中国では、暦や方角などを表すために使われていました。覚えやすいように各文字に12の動物を当てはめたといわれているそうです。昔の日本では十二時辰という十二支を使った時間表記をしていたそうです。12時のことを「正午」というのはそのためです。

十二支は、やがて、身近な動物の特徴や様子から、幸福のための象徴としての意味あいが込められることになったそうです。

【経年変化とお手入れについて】

茶・黒につは硫化着色しているため、経年変化による色味の変化はありませんが、肌は、十円玉のように経年変化により色味が濃く変化します。
色をもとに戻したい場合は、水にクエン酸（300mlの水＋クエン酸の粉大さじ一杯）に15分ほどつけます。たわしなどでこすらないようにご注意ください。
